League Results

Congratulations to the Steven Charles Snooker team who are crowned champions of the 2019-2020 season of the Northern Quarter Pool League, returning to the top after the Oaks knocked them from the top spot two years ago. A dominating performance with a winning percentage of 75% of their matches, recording a total 21 wins to just 7 matches lost. With a total of 88 games won, they have exactly the same result they recorded when they last topped the table in the 2016-2017 season.

A close battle for the runner up position, some 3 wins behind the winners with 18 wins, the Snooker Loopys take the spot on game difference with a final tally of 89 games won – 1 more than the winners.

Individual Performance

This year’s winner of the Most League Wins award, Neil Griffiths, who clearly contributed to the Snooker Loopys team match scores, and maintained a 100% record for almost the entire season before finally being defeated near the end. Neil finished the season with 25 wins from 27 games played giving him a win percentage of 92.6%.

Best of the rest for the 2019-2020 season, three players tie for second place a long way behind on 19 wins.

8 Ball Clearances

Neil Griffiths also took the award for Most 8 Ball Clearances, performing this feat no less than 5 times during the season. Neil was the only player to record an 8 Ball Clearance this season.

Gallon Results

Congratulations to the Derby Brewery Arms B team for taking the winning spot in the Gallon league with 19 matches won.

In runner up position we have a tie with three teams all failing to snatch a victory in their last match, leaving the Derby Brewery Arms A, the Refugees & the Snooker Loopys all together on 15 wins.

Gallon Playoff – 18th December 2019

A playoff match will be scheduled for Wednesday 18th December 2019. This match will consist of a 3 team round robin competition with each team playing the other two twice. All games will be a single pairs match (like a normal gallon game) and no two paired players on any team may play more than half of the four games (a minimum of three players will be required to take part). A match sheet will be provided to record the players and results. In the unlikely event that there is a tie after this then a simple knockout drawn at random will be used to determine the result.

Annual General Meeting 2020

The AGM will take place on Wednesday 5th February 2020 at the Derby Brewery Arms. All interested parties should attend this meeting including anyone who would like to join the league. Team registration for the coming season will take place at this meeting as usual.

Presentation Evening 2019-2020 Season

The presentation will take place on Wednesday 12th February 2020 at the Steven Charles Snooker Centre.

25th Anniversary – 2020-2021 Season

• Next year the league will be celebrating its 25th Anniversary!
  The Northern Quarter Pool League was established in 1995
• The first meeting will be held on the 4th March 2020
  Teams should have their player registrations ready for this meeting
• The first match of the season will take place on 11th March 2020
