Northern Quarter Pool League

The end is nigh!

As with the recent nail biting conclusion of the F1 season (and Lewis Hamilton’s excellent victory in Brazil to secure his second World Driver’s Championship Title), closer to home our very own title race is now on the brink of climax and things are incredibly close at the top of the table.

After leading the way for most of the season, the Steven Charles Snooker Centre team had looked unstoppable this year. In the latter stages however, they have faltered (tripping over at the Trotters), allowing the Derby Brewery Arms ‘A’ team to reduce their advantage to just one win.

This culminated last week in their final encounter together for this season and possibly the Derby’s only opportunity to draw level. On the night it was a narrow victory, the match finishing 2-3 to the visiting Derby team.

This now gives the Derby ‘A’ team the current lead in the League Table by virtue of their superior game difference. The final round of the 2014-2015 season takes place on Wednesday 3rd December at 9:00pm.

Potential Outcomes

The Derby Brewery Arms ‘A’ team just require a win on Wednesday night against the visiting Burton Lodgers team to take the title.

The Steven Charles Snooker Centre team require the Derby team to lose and a win as visitors against the Wheatsheaf Oaks team.

Due to the superior game difference, no other outcome will prevent the Derby Brewery Arms ‘A’ from taking the crown at the final hurdle.

Good luck to everyone involved, and may the best team win!
