They think it's all over, it is now...

Finally, the matches have all been completed, and we can now announce this years League champions (and Gallon runner up) are the Crown & Cushion 'B'.

Having maintained a comfortable lead throughout the season they finish eight points clear of the second place contender. No doubt having the top two individual players on the team, Ryan Cooper and Neil Scholes, as well as a number of other top ranking players helped their quest for victory.

The Burton Arms put on a strong finish to the season to take runner up spot in the League, helped by Vicky McGovern who lost just one game in the second half of the season and finishes as the top ranked female player in the league, as well as Paul Jackson who completes the season in third place in the individual ranking.

The Wheatsheaf Oaks were beaten back into third in the League but eventually won the Gallon by just one game over the Crown & Cushion 'B' as the latter failed to win their last chance to draw level playing against the Ducie Bridge.

The Ducie Bridge (hosts for the upcoming Presentation evening for this season) end with the ignominious glory of finishing in last place in the League although they did manage a respectable fourth place finish in the Gallon.

In spite of his team's performance, Mike Eskowitz of the Ducie Bridge finished in fourth place in the individual rankings, with the fifth place ranking going to Dave Kennedy from the Wheatsheaf Oaks.

Still to come...

In the New Year we kick off with the 2010 AGM which takes place at 8pm on the Wednesday 6th January at the Crown & Cushion.

Right after this meeting we have the first round of the KO cup at 9pm, which includes just four of our teams as the other two have byes, see the fixtures section for more information on this and the other fixtures below.

The following Wednesday, 13th January, is the second round of the KO cup with the winning teams who made it through from the first round, and those who got byes, playing to see who can reach the final.

On the 20th January, both the Individual Quarter Finals and Semi Finals will take place, these matches start at 8:30pm prompt, for more information check the fixtures.

One week later, 27th January, the Pairs Quarter Finals and Semi Finals will be played in the same format as above.

The second meeting of 2010 takes place at 8pm on Wednesday 3rd February, this will be held at the Ducie Bridge.

Also on this night is the KO cup final which will start at 9pm, the venue has not been finalised at this time.

The following week we have the Finals of the Individuals and Pairs both taking place on the same night, Wednesday 10th February.

And finally, the 2010/2011 Season is scheduled to commence with the first match on the 17th February.

The Presentation Evening for 2009/2010 Season will take place on Wednesday 21st April 2010.
